College loans for schooling charges and living costs You may just be able to get aid with teaching charges and living costs thru student loans. Loans must be repaid. There are 2 study loans you may just be able to get annually of your course : a Teaching Charge Loan – to help with the price of your tutoring charges in full a Upkeep Loan – to help with accommodation and other living costs ( how much you get relies upon where you reside and study and your home revenue ) Grants to help with living costs if you are a full time student, you can also make an application for a Upkeep Grant to assist you with your living costs.
You do not have to pay this grant back. For 2010 / eleven and 2011 / twelve, you can apply for a Upkeep Grant if your house revenue is £50,020 or less. The maximum Upkeep Grant available is : £2,906 for 2010 / eleven £2,906 for 2011 / twelve Details of the Upkeep Grant for 2012 / thirteen will be decided shortly. If you receive or qualify for means-tested benefits, you can make an application for a Special Support Grant rather than a Upkeep Grant. Means-tested benefits take your earnings and expenditure into account and include Earnings Support and Housing Benefit. Bursaries to aid you with your schooling charges Bursaries are available thru your college or university to help with your tutoring costs.
You do not have to pay bursaries back. You will get a bursary of £329 if you pay the maximum tutoring costs of £3,290 in 2010 / eleven and receive the full Upkeep Grant or Special Support Grant. If your varsity or school charges the maximum schooling costs of £3,375 for 2011 / twelve, you should get a bursary of about £338.
